Components of cochlear implant:
A cochlear implant is an ear machine which is divided into the two parts which are as follows:
External/Outside Parts
The external (outside) part which sits behind the ear and it consists of a microphone, a speech processor, and a transmitter.
Internal/Inside Parts
An internal (surgically implanted) parts that work together to allow the user to recognize the sound. It contains receiver/stimulator and an electrode array.
Both of them work together to recognize the sound. The signal is then sent to the brain along the hearing nerve as normal.
